DENVER: At 3:00 local time (5:00 EST), several members of Occupy Denver began hanging around the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown. As a fellow blogger, Da Tech Guy, exclaimed, “they looked the part”. One couple began hovering in a corner, behind a plant, while others tried to look like the fit in with the Blogcon crowd, in the small hotel lobby. At least one occupier was arrested. That man was high and shoved a cop, according to fellow blogger, Kat McKinney of Houston. Blogcon attendees converged on them and began to chat. (See videos, below.)
Your blogger’s husband notified the Denver police this morning of the impending actions, and was told by that the police had had “a lot of trouble” with the local occupiers.
When the Denver Police began looking around, the couple hiding behind the plant headed for the elevator, not knowing, comically, that the elevator was going nowhere without a room key. There are a number of videos just coming in and KCC will share them with you, as we get them.
Here we go:
Thanks to People’s Press Collective for these videos!
See Breitbart.tv here for more videos! The Occupiers are slowly going away in every city and conservatives are waving goodbye to them! Do what you can to help make it happen.
Thanks to Amanda Mixon, a longtime GOP activist, for stepping up to the Raleigh City Council last week to speak against the Occupy Raleigh group as they sought to maintain their site in a Raleigh public park. Citizens and businesses everywhere are tired of this as it hurts their property values and cuts down on their business. Bravo Amanda! Keep up the great work.
UPDATE 4:24 MST: Here’s another You Tube video of the events of the day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpOd5tdfeQU
DENVER – Looks like the “Occupiers” are ready to act, again and this time, conservatives are ready. We here in Denver at the Blogcon Conference, sponsored by FreedomWorks, expect them to hit us at about 5 p.m. local time (7 p.m. EST).
So far, it’s been an exciting day, with all levels of bloggers in the packed house, including the regular “Legion of Doom” gang, of which your blogger is a member. The “Legion” is a tight-knit group of about 40 bloggers who see each other regularly at these events.
FreedomWorks, a supporter of economic freedom, is as unpopular with liberal groups as is the Americans for Prosperity. Inspired by their counterparts in Washington, DC last weekend, they are have tweeted and blogged that they will be visiting the Blogcon hotel this afternoon. As mentioned, at 5 p.m. MST (7 p.m. EST) we expect them to arrive.
Last weekend, this blogger was hit in the back by a 2×4 as she attempted to leave the Defending the American Dream Summit in Washington. KCC was leaving the Washington Convention Center to meet a Supershuttle van.
Her rolling computer case was stuck in the door, and as she was trying to free it, she was hit in the back by an unknown person wearing dreadlocks and a striped knitted cap. Police, who saw the entire thing, would not assist, nor would they take a report. Sadly, no fellow attendees were around to help as KCC fell to the ground. There was a lot of pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk, so the man quickly slipped away.
Police in Denver have been notified of the possible events today.
If the Occupiers do indeed visit as planned, KCC will have photos and videos for you. Watch for them later!
Editor’s Note: KCC is recovering from the attack last weekend and is thankful that board missed the back of her head. Thanks be to God!

The nation has seen the problems of collective bargining with public employees. They forget that they work for us, the taxpayers. It seems that often, we give them an inch and they want a mile. They complain about being “workers” and that they want “workers rights” and they forget that the taxpayers who pay their salaries are workers, too. It doesn’t matter if you work with your back or your brain, as a ditch digger or a designer, we all work in some way.
Public workers forget that they do not contribute to the economny, they take from it.
Recently, we told you about a FreedomWorks leader, Tabitha Hale, who was attached by a union demonstrator. Ms. Hale, who is a friend of KCC, was watching the demonstrations outside her offices, and decided to take her iPhone to video them. She was knocked down, all 5’1″ of her, while wearing a dress. You can see her attacker, at the very end of the below video. He’s the white bearded man in the bright red sweat shirt.
Ms. Hale, as does anyone, has the right to walk up the street. If people are demonstrating outside her office at FreedomWorks in Washington, she has the right to take video of them. She did nothing to “deserve” her tumble from a man standing above her on a wall. What makes these people so angry? Why has decency slid so low?
Glenn Beck tells us that WE must be organized, too.
Here is just the way to do it:
EDITOR’S NOTE: Tabitha Hale and your blogger are both members of Smart Girl Politics, a non-partisan group that seeks to engage, educate, and empower conservative women.
Due to the tremendous turnout at many issue briefings earlier this year and the many important policies we are working on, North Carolina FreedomWorks has added additional dates for you to come out, meet other patriots in your area, and learn about the vital issues facing our state and nation.
Each Legislative Issues Briefing is hosted by a local FreedomWorks activist. Other featured speakers and guests include North Carolina FreedomWorks State Director Allen Page, Becki Gray, Vice President for Outreach of the John Locke Foundation, and Kathy Hartkopf, Legislative Liaison of North Carolina FreedomWorks

North Carolina State Director
My friend, Tabitha Hale, is fearless. Here she is getting attacked while filming a union thug protesting outside her office at FreedomWorks. Conservative America has rallied by her side. Thank you, Tabitha, for all you do. Just think, it wasn’t all that long ago, that you were a wonderful blogger living here in Raleigh. You wanted to go where the action was, in DC, and you made it happen.
Hale is currently the New Media Director, and so much more for the FreedomWorks national office. Conservative bloggers everywhere love her. Check out the full story by our friend Fingers Malloy, at News Real Blog.
Ms. Hale had this to say:
Basically, it’s ridiculous. I’m a 5’1 female in a dress, and he was standing up on a garden wall above me in the courtyard. He hardly felt threatened. I was stunned, because generally protesters are there to, you know, get their message out. They don’t normally shy away from the camera. I’m very much okay, and very appreciative of the support from my fellow bloggers and activists today. I am, however, shaken up by the level of sheer hatred I experienced today. The look of fury on his face in the close up is appalling. I had not exchanged a word with him. He didn’t know who I was. He didn’t even know my name, what I do. He had probably surmised that I was with FreedomWorks and that was enough.
This just can’t be tolerated anymore. It’s one thing to be called a violent teabagger. It’s another to be called a violent teabagger while you’re being assaulted. They’ve been comparing themselves to the Egyptians ousting Mubarak. Looks like they’re not too far off, given that they share the tendency to assault women with cameras.
Have you ever wondered what you can do to prevent President Barack Obama, Beverly Perdue, David Price, Brad Miller, and other liberals from getting re-elected? Would you like a tool that would help you know what is going on in your area and be a part of quick mobilization?
For we conservatives, tea partiers, and liberty lovers, we have that tool! It’s called FreedomConnector and it’s sponsored by FreedomWorks one of this blogger’s favorite groups. FreedomWorks has invested a great deal into this tool and on Monday, FreedomConnect was endorsed by Glenn Beck on his show.
Your blogger joined as “Katy” and put up her photo, which is actually the logo to this blog. We also started a sub group within the Freedomworks North Carolina group, called Raleigh Freedomworkers. If you live in Raleigh or the Wake County area, you can join this and get involved/mobilized with the upcoming municipal elections this year and we’ll need to fight hard.
You can also join other groups as you see fit. Did you just move to NC but want to also keep up with what is going on back home? You can join the groups there, too. You can discuss virtually any topic and add people to your list of connections
After Beck’s endorsement, 20,000 people joined in less than 24 hours!
As Tabitha Hale, New Media Director at FreedomWorks says, ”This thing is big and it’s a game changer”. Don’t be left on the side lines.
Also, Freedomworks NC is hosting more legislative briefings but the email that went out today is incorrect. KCC will be updating this on a post as soon as we get correct information. You will be able to RSVP via FreedomConnector.
It was quite a surprise to see Rep. Allen West (R-FL) in the bloggers room, right before he went on the main stage as the closing speaker at CPAC11. He’s a rousing speaker and is another of those few that, after all these years, can get this blogger out of her chair to cheer.
Because your blogger couldn’t get close enough, she is embedding a video captured by MarathonPundit, who has been sitting behind KCC for the last three days. He’s a good one, so be sure to check out his site.
Meanwhile, check out the video, below:
Your blogger would like to thank FreedomWorks, and most especially Tabitha Hale, for her hard work in making the blogger’s room so nice this year.
Thank you Matt Kibbe and Chairman Dick Armey for allocating the funding to sponsor the bloggers room so that we can come and get the CPAC message out.
Thank you FreedomWorks and Tabitha Hale and company. Katy’s Conservative Corner loves you!
Your blogger is assuming that you can see the proceedings online, per her first blog post this morning.
So we’ll tell you a bit about the floor at CPAC. Thursday is usually the least attended day here, but the floor is absolutely packed. Your blogger would hate to venture a crowd count, but we know that this year’s registration is larger than 2010.
There is special seating for the Diamond and Platnum donors, front and center. Around that are the “regular” people who have the three day passes and paid $150 to be here. In years past, this blogger was a “regular” person.
By the way, Newt Gingrich has been introduced and as he makes his walk to the stage with his wife, shaking hands along the way, the 80s tune,”Eye of the Tiger” is playing. It’s as if he has come back from from the dead and is the arisen Phonix, stronger than before.
KCC has now moved to the balcony outside of the blogger’s room. It’s much easier to hear out here and cooler, too. The bloggers room is too noisy, with some running talk radio shows simultaneously, in the background. Also, the audio to the live feed in there is turned down low.
Coming to CPAC is quite the reunion for we bloggers who see each other only when we come to Washington or other events around the nation. We live all across the nation, and there are only three other bloggers from North Carolina. They cover national events, due to their location.
Again, KCC urges you to use Twitter and follow the hashtag #cpac11 to follow the attendees and bloggers tweets. You can follow every single line uttered by every speaker, if you care to.
