WILMINGTON: “I lost my job and I didn’t know what to do,” former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory told a rapt NC Republican Convention crowd.

“So what is our Governor doing while people are losing our jobs?”

She said “trust me” and then raised your sales tax, your corporate income tax, and personal income tax…she’s joining the campaign team of Mike Easley and Johnny Edwards in spending a lot of money hiring lawyers.

McCrory quipped, “It must be pretty hard to find a good lawyer in Raleigh right now.”

He continued, “She’s hired a new chef for the governor’s mansion and she hired a new consultant from Chicago, Illinois.

“I say it’s time to call our Governor out.

“As of yesterday, she created executive orders out of  thin air, it is others in the state capitol who are making the tough decisions while you are making yourself irrelevant while we desperately need your leadership.

“There are others who have not become irreverent.   I have seen some of what they have done.  Thom Tillis, speaker of the House,  Phil Berger, President Pro Temp of the Senate, and all the members of our Republican Legislature who have worked and lead in a bipartisan manner.  They were willing to make the tough decisions.

“They formed a bipartisan committee and and trimmed the fat out of the budget,  yet do not accept a 43% high school graduation rate in this state.

“To each one of you, I thank you for your leadership.

“For 2012, Governor Perdue and President Obama will not go away quietly.  Right now, millions of dollars are pouring into North Carolina.  They are fighting Voter Id.  They are telling you it disenfranchises our voters yet it’s just the opposite.

“They (the Democrats and liberals) are coming to our state to change  to change our collective bargaining rights.   They are coming to North Carolina to bring their national convention.  They have targeted North Carolina and intend to re-take the legislature, (and turn it blue).  (The crowd then shouted a chorus of boos).

He gave an heartfelt thank you for the job that Party Chairman Robin Hayes.  Hayes was elected by the State GOP executive committee on January 16th after former Chairman Tom Fetzer stepped down.

McCrory said he appreciated the commitment Hayes has made to our party for a number of years and that he supports his re-election as Chairman.  That election will be held later this afternoon.

Pat McCrory added in 1988, he lost his job.  But later, he was re-hired by that same company.  In this same way, he wants to ensure that everyone who wants a job, gets a job.

“That way we can quit living on our personal credit cards and on the government’s credit cards.  We cannot accept what the Governor calls ‘the new normal’”.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Pat McCrory is running against Governor Beverly Perdue for that office. Katy’s Conservative Corner fully supports his candidacy and is proud to endorse him. He’ll make a great Governor and this blogger feels that Raleigh needs a Republican Governor living in the mansion on Blount Street.

This blogger grew up in Trent Woods, NC and has known the current governor most of her life.  It’s nothing personal against Perdue, rather, KCC is a conservative and believes in conservative values.

Trent Woods is a village on the Trent River located outside of coastal New Bern NC.  It’s a great place to grow up and raise a family!

Thankfully, today, Craven County has largely been taken over by Republicans!
