Welcome to Wilmington NCGOP

WILMINGTON – Your blogger is thrilled to be at yet another North Carolina Republican Party Convention.  We cannot remember how many we have attended in our 27 years of political activism, but your blogger can only remember missing about four state conventions.  It’s a yearly highlight and do-not-miss event, as we keep in touch with those we don’t often see, here.  It’s also nice to put names with faces for our Twitter and Facebook friends.

This year’s event in coastal Wilmington, NC promises to be fun, thanks to the excellent turnout expected, a great lineup of speakers, the election of a party chairman and vice chairman, (and other party officers by the executive committee on Sunday) and by the many hospitality suites.

Your blogger is settled into her hotel, the Country Inns and Suites,  and ran into some young vendors from the Leadership Institute while she was checking in.

Look for our ad in your program and keep up with the proceedings during the event right here.   Not only will we keep you up with the floor proceedings but also on the luncheon speakers, pool parties, and hospitality suites.    KCC’s  trusty husband, Rob is here, to assist.

We here at Katy’s Conservative Corner are enjoying our 4G LTE devices, by Verizon.  Again, they really should sponsor this blog, as often as we mention them.  Rob’s has your blogger’s former 4G LTE Pantech modem and KCC has a brand new Samsung hotspot.  Both are backwards compatible with 3G.  Wilmington has 4G LTE whereas Raleigh does not yet, so we are having a ball flying across the Internet.

The Republicans are the biggest game in town this weekend, according to convention staffers we interviewed.  Traffic is expected to be heavy, and KCC is glad we are staying near the convention hotel.

Please tweet us any tips you may have to http://www.twitter.com/katys or post them to our Facebook page.  Stop by the media table and say hello.  We will be bringing a lot of photos of events and will try to post as many as we can, so if you are in town, you might just see your face here.

It’s time for this blogger to enjoy an evening walk on the waterfront with her husband.  Until Friday morning…
