Behind the Scenes: Verizon 4G LTE at CPAC 2011

KCC's 4G LTE Modem from Verizon. This works well in Washington and 4G is coming to North Carolina later this year!

KCC is the only one in the blogger’s room at CPAC 2011 with Internet access, thanks to her recent purchase of a Verizon 4G LTE card. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, organizers have had trouble all morning getting the WiFi connection in the blogger’s room to work, though KCC appreciates their efforts.

Enter your blogger’s 4G card. 4G speeds are available here in Washington and 4G  really smokes.  The speeds we tested last night on Speedtest.net were fantastic vs. broadband at home, and even our 3G MiFi card is faster here.

We can’t wait until 4G LTE comes to North Carolina.   The Charlotte airport already has 4G LTE and Raleigh is due to get 4G LTE in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year.  KCC is not holding her breath, but she appreciates the investment that Verizon has made in its customers.   Verizon couldn’t make this investment if President Barack Obama’s so-called Net Neutrality is enacted by the FCC.  More on that in another post.

Your blogger’s  husband and devoted blogging sidekick, works for the company that invented/developed 4G LTE, the only true 4G that can surpass broadband speeds.  He tells us that AT&T will eventually migrate to LTE, but they haven’t not made an announcement and are generally more methodical (i.e.  slower) than their rivals at Verizon.

We hope you enjoy our posts, both of the speakers and behind the scenes.  Right now, we have no audio in the blogger’s room and so no one knows what the speaker’s are discussing.  Also, because the Internet connection is down for most,  the blogger’s are standing around talking, making for a party atmosphere.   More soon!

EDITOR’S NOTE: Verizon did not pay for this testimonial, but they should advertise on Katy’s Conservative Corner. We love that company that much.  In fact, we only deal with one particular Verizon store – the Cary Crossroads store.  Most of the former Alltel employees came over and KCC has dealt with that store for many years.   They take good care of us and do all they can to keep their customers happy.
