Herman Cain forms Exploratory Committee
Atlanta talk-show host and tea party/conservative favorite, Herman Cain, has formed a Presidential Exploratory Committee. Though he maintains on his website that he is still “considering” a run for the White House, the formation of such a committee essentially means that he is in the race.
Many top national bloggers have told KCC that Mr. Cain has “no chance” due to lack of name recognition, but last week he told the Wall Street Journal that he “has plans in place” to change that.
Cain, who once told this blogger that his father walked off the family farm at 18 with nothing but the clothes on his back, is completely self-made. He grew up in a poor but close-knit family. Both he and his brother are college graduates and Herman Cain went on to have an illustrious business career. Among his achievements is bringing Godfathers Pizza back from the brink of bankruptcy. Read a more complete bio, here.
Your blogger likes Cain very much. He has a strong handshake and he looks one in the eye when speaking. He is sincere and is great at remembering names, a very special quality. He was tea party before there was such a thing. He’s an unabashed conservative and he doesn’t mind sharing the story of how God saved him from cancer. He’s popular on the professional speaking circuit, also.
Herman Cain is a man on a mission and he’s got a great message for us all, Republican or not. He believes that the American dream is not lost forever, but we have an obligation to defend that dream!
He comes from a business career, not a political one, so he doesn’t owe a bunch of favors. In short, he, like much of the new Congress, has “real world” experience.
He hosts a talk show on the south’s largest station, Atlanta’s WSB, which airs Monday – Friday from 7-9 p.m. It can be streamed live via computer here. If the link doesn’t work on your computer, go here and click on “Listen Live”.
KCC will be writing more on Herman Cain in the coming months. Like Sarah Palin, she thinks he is a great example for us all to follow, and he deserves a top seat at the proverbial table, elected official or not.
Editor’s Note: As KCC wrote this post, she was listening to the Herman Cain Show on WSB. She had to laugh at the callers who called to give him political advice. Don’t they realize that he’s got the best consultants that money can buy?
Cain was kind to them and thanked them for their advice. Later, he remarked that he feels he will “get people off the couch” that might have stayed on it to vote for him. We have two years to keep an eye on the race.
Ultimately, your blogger believes that race will all come down to the economy. It it goes way up, President Barack Obama will be re-elected. If it tanks, in part due to Obama’s economic policies, the GOP nominee will get the nod.
Obama has many detractors and they, like your blogger, believe that his “health care reform”, the so-called “stimulus”, and the make-work road projects, among others, have all cost our economy dearly. This will not help our economy and will “guarantee” no recovery, these right-wing pundits.
What do you think?
