Rep. Renee Ellmers Statement on shootings in Arizona

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers had this to say about the weekend shootings of Rep. Giffords (and others)  in Tucson, Arizona:

“I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the senseless attack on Congresswoman Giffords and others in Arizona today.  According to early reports, there have been several confirmed deaths, including those of Judge John Roll and a nine-year-old child.  My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrific act and their families, staff and friends.

I would like to commend the swift reaction of first responders today.  As a former emergency room critical care nurse, I will be praying for those doctors and nurses as they continue to care for the wounded, as well as for the law enforcement officials working to apprehend and bring to justice those involved in this horrific attack.”
