HoneyMoon Over: Time To Get To Work

The Honeymoon is over. Let's get to work, Congress!

Congratulations folks.  Let’s all pat ourselves on the back one more time.  Our Congress has been sworn in, and they have gone to work and it’s time for the honeymoon to end.  It’s time for us all to focus on the main issue: limiting the powers of the federal government.

We the people elected this new Congress based on the principles our framers wanted in the Constitution and we are determined to get back to basics.  For their part, the House leadership has stated that no new bill will be allowed to be introduced without proof of where it would is called for in the Constitution.   This is an excellent first step.

Our job, as the citizens who elected them, is to ensure their promises are kept.  But, we cannot keep beating on the Republicans we elected.  We must also remember that there is another election in two years and that there are many more Democrats in Washington than Republicans, and we should be watching them, too.

We will be holding not only the Republicans’, but also the Democrats’  feet to the fire in 2012.  President Obama has made unprecedented power grabs through his appointees and via his executive branch agencies.  We simply cannot allow any elected official to go along and get along with this.

Your blogger will be writing a great deal more about Obama’s atrocities in the coming weeks and months and urges her fellow bloggers to please share the information with their audiences.   After a good series of blogger briefings in Washington by the limited government group, Americans for Prosperity (AFP), KCC is armed with information.

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers will rely on her real world experience as a nurse.

Thankfully, 88 of these  freshmen Members of Congress, are non-politicians.  They bring real world experience from running businesses, to health care.   In the case of tea party favorite, North Carolina Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC2), she brings her Nursing career with her.  Meanwhile, her husband, Brent, is a physician.  They have dedicated  their lives to helping people and she in now in Congress to continue her career in the service of others.

Our new members will make mistakes, like any freshmen.  We must be prepared to help support them when necessary, and remember that they will receive plenty of criticism from the mainstream media.  There are a number of alternatives to what has previously been presented and your blogger will be discussing them soon.  Read KCC for more!

EDITOR’S NOTE: There are also a number of AFP state groups, including North Carolina. NCAFP had one of the charter states in the organization and is an active member, routinely bringing one of the largest delegations to the annual Defending the American Dream conferences each Fall.     Get involved in the North Carolina group, lead by Dallas Woodhouse, Chris Marie Farr, and Jeff Mixon.

This blogger was “tea party” conservative  before there was a tea party, but the Americans for Prosperity changed her life!  Thanks to Tim, Phil, and Erik!
