Visit to Pentagon Memorial on 9th Anniversary of Terrorist Attack on US
Good morning from Washington. Yesterday, your blogger spend a somber day remembering the 9th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11/2001 by visiting the Pentagon Memorial. The Pentagon Memorial was the first such one to be built.
KCC saw family members and friends huddled by the benches dedicated to each of those who perished on that awful day.
KCC took some photos last evening and wanted to share them with you.
There were a number of people there last evening and everyone was silent, except for the wimpers of tears being shed. Friends from the blogger’s conference that KCC is here in DC attending came early in the morning and were detained while President Barak Obama held a private wreath laying with the families of the deceased. Underneath the bench representing Barbara K. Olson, lay one dozen red roses.
When your blogger visited at about 6:30 in the evening, a 5k walk/run in memory of those who died, was happening in the parking lot of the Pentagon. Your blogger saw one man carrying a large American flag with the name “Ray” on the back. We don’t know exactly who “Ray” was, but we assume that he was one who perished in that tragedy.
Enjoy a few photos from last night’s somber evening.
