McCrory to WTVD: The State of NC Government is an Embarrassment

Pat McCrory

Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory was in the Triangle area last week, helping 2nd District Congressional Candidate Renee Ellmers raise funds for her campaign against Congressman Bob “Who Are You” Etheridge.

Afterwards, he sat down with WTVD, Channel 11 for an interview.   One of the first sentences WTVD showed was McCrory saying was “the State of North Carolina government is an embarassement”.   He also told the channel that he was “considering” another run for Governor in 2012 but that this year, he is more focused on helping other GOP candidates get elected.

Renee Ellmers is a bit of fresh air that we need in Washington, McCrory stated.

He took plenty of shots at Governor Beverly Perdue (D-Craven/Orange/?) and said that she’d been a part of North Carolina’s government for “over 20 years now and how many times can she can upset about this controversy or incensed?”

Clearly, McCrory feels the Governor is part of the problem if not the entire problem, and her numbers have trended down, with scandals in the Highway Patrol, in the State Board of Elections, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Alcohol Beverage Control  (ABC), among others.

About the only thing right, Perdue is doing right, according to this blogger, her handling of Hurricane Earl which was swirling off Bogue Banks as of this writing.  She was on television late Thursday afternoon telling people to get off the beaches, out of the way, and out of their boats.
