Just back from Mississippi, your blogger is on the road again.  Today your blogger and her husband are off to Emerald Isle, where she will drop her son off with her parents (near New Bern) and will drive up to Washington Thursday morning.

This time, it’s the 4th annual, national Defending the American Dream Summit. Your blogger has been to each of these gatherings of free market, limited government warriors.  The event is put on by the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, one of the top grassroots training organizations in the nation.  It reminds attendees of President Reagan’s principles and his dream for our nation, which drives conservatives today.

As always, KCC will be on bloggers row, bringing you updates.  Look for them, starting Friday morning.

Confirmed speakers include Herman Cain, a favorite of your blogger and a possible Presidential candidate. The “Hermainator” is one of the country’s leading black conservatives, has a popular talk show from WSB in Atlanta, and is a deeply devout Christian.

Also on the bill is the ever-popular speaker and columnist, George Will.  Check the agenda here.  The Defending the American Dream event is sold out, so if you haven’t made your reservations, you are out of luck.

Saturday is the big Glenn Beck rally and march, and Washington will be at a standstill. There are no hotel rooms to be had in the District Friday night  while the crowd Saturday will be nothing short of controlled chaos.   Your blogger is not even sure if she will go  and might just stay across town and watch it on TV. However, the AFP will be running buses from the Dream Summit to the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, so we may go after all.  If so, we’ll bring it to you on video.

KCC will be back in town for the 9/12 rally, put together by FreedomWorks, which she hopes will also as well-attended as last year.  Also on your blogger’s Fall schedule are  the Smart Girl Nation Summit sponsored by Smart Girl Politics, and BlogCon, also sponsored by FreedomWorks.  All of these events will be held in our nation’s Capitol.
