NC House Dist 3: Sanderson Leads Underhill

Here’s a bit of good news from you Eastern NC conservatives tired of suffering under state Rep. Alice Underhill (D-Craven).  Challenger Norm Sanderson (R-Pamlico) is riding high, as a recent p0ll shows him with a lead over the liberal incumbent.

According to the website, Win Big NC,

(Poll) results showed Republican challenger Norman Sanderson receiving 49 percent of the vote compared to 37 percent for Alice Graham Underhill. Among respondents describing themselves as “very likely voters,” Sanderson’s margin increased slightly to 50 percent with only 36 percent saying they would vote for Underhill.

For full results, including the details of the poll sponsors, please read the article here.  Underhill is one that conservatives would like to see out and this is our best shot in recent years.

Editor’s Note:

Your blogger has known Mrs.  Underhill for many years and she was a long-time volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Until she got into politics, Underhill rarely, if ever,  used her maiden name, Graham.

Yes, she is the daughter of the sodfather, Jim Graham, the late former Commissioner of Agriculture.   We admire her pride in her father, but it seems odd that she suddenly pulled out her maiden name when she decided to enter politics.
