Frantz’s Five To Thrive Legislation: Part I
Recently, KCC gave you a little taste of what Don Frantz is planning, when he defeats state Rep. Jennifer Weiss (D-Wake). Now, he’s rolled out what he plans to do his first days in office. This man is on a mission and there’s no taking him down.
Here’s what Don has to say:
FIVE to THRIVE
The first piece of FIVE to THRIVE legislation will restore fiscal responsibility to our state budget process.
“Most states are struggling with the financial crisis, but North Carolina is faring better than other states.” (state Rep. Jennifer Weiss, D-Wake, Don’s opponent)
My solution? I’ll be introducing the GROWTH in BUDGET ACT which will limit government spending increases to the average increase of inflation and population growth. The Growth in Budget Act will require a two-thirds majority vote of the General Assembly to exceed this limit and will establish an emergency reserve trust fund. Any funds unspent as a result of this act that exceed 5% of the general fund appropriation for the prior fiscal year will be returned to the taxpayers.
Editor’s Notes:
Don Frantz currently serves on the Cary Town Council and is the owner of one of the top small businesses in the Triangle, Frantz Automotive.
Like small business people everywhere, Frantz has to meet a payroll and his employees have been with him for many years. He is the proud father of six children and husband to loving wife, Lisa. They also own a wedding business.
Your blogger and her husband take the family vehicles to Frantz Automotive, despite the fact that his shop is miles out of our way. His employees are polite, treat women like real people, and deliver on time at a rate that is affordable.
KCC’s son likes the “cool race car stuff” in the waiting room.
