The Truth Behind the Burr vs Marshall Poll
Those stories reporting that NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall is catching up to U.S. Senator Richard Burr, might just not be so true, afterall. Here is the real story.
An article by Jim Geraghty might just explain where Public Policy Polling is coming from. In the post on National Review Online, Geraghty describes how the mainstream polling firms, like Gallup and Mason-Dixon “never seem to offer results frequently enough.”
…newer polling organizations have stepped in to fill the void, becoming widely cited and shaping the conventional wisdom about this year’s competitive races.
PPP’s Tom Jensen admitted in the article that his firm was “rooting” for Mrs. Marshall and that he didn’t want to see Richard Burr get re-elected.
Naturally, they’d like to get it right, but the race isn’t as nearly as close as they want you to believe.
Other information included:
In short,
Not only is the poll supposed to be slanted toward Marshall, but also her campaign is actually touting results that show her losing 7% of Independent voters!
That’s something you won’t find in the mainstream media.
